Weddings & Portraits

My main passion in life is helping people. I haven't discerned a definite call from God yet as to what He wants that to look like exactly, but photography is one way He's working in and through me right now... and I'm loving it!!

I have had a camera in my hands for a long time. First, a disposable camera taking pictures of bugs and nature in my friend's backyard, then calling it "art" when my mom got the prints and didn't exactly understand my photo choices. That transitioned into capturing memories with my friends and family, and then taking more artsy pictures of anything that caught my eye. I still love capturing my own memories and taking abstract and artsy photos, but my concentration in serving others right now is through wedding and portrait photography.

I kind of stumbled into this blessing by taking my friend's engagement photos, some InterVarsity small group photos at JMU, and second shooting with a professional photographer I know from school (thanks Steph!). Through those experiences, God has shown me how blessed I am by getting to know so many different people and connecting with them in unique and special ways. Photos capture once in a lifetime moments and memories, and I absolutely love being able to share that with people.

Fun facts:

• I had my own special day on June 8, 2013 when I got married to my amazing husband, Andrew!
• My husband and I both went to JMU... Go Dukes!!
• I'm pretty obsessed with elephants.
• ...but Jesus Christ is my #1, and I try to serve Him and share His love with others in everything I do.
• I grew up in the Virginia Beach area, so naturally the beach is my place of ultimate relaxation.
• I survived all my education and two years of teaching middle schoolers without being a soda- or coffee-drinker... this continues!  
• Drink of choice: lemonade
• Favorite candy: Reese's
